Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers
At this very moment, the Chicago Cubs are leading their division. However, that could all change tomorrow. For the Milwaukee brewers are right behind them by half a game. And its not between those two teams either, because the St. Louis Cardinals have seemingly remembered how to play baseball, and are now only four games back in the division. Every game matters for these three teams in arguably the most exciting division in baseball.

The Milwaukee Brewers broke out of a 5 game losing streak today. All cylinders clicked for the brew crew today, as home runs from Gabe Gross and Geoff Jenkins as well as RBI’s from Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun led to an 8-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. They are just 0.5 games behind the Cubs at this point, but their upcoming series against the Arizona Diamondbacks will prove to be very important, because of the performance from Chicago lately.

The Cubs also won today, keeping them in first place for another day. They have now won 3 games in a row, after defeating their division rival St. Louis Cardinals. In the most important series of the year for the Red Birds, Daryle Ward clubbed a grand slam to keep the Cubbies on top for today. With a sense of urgency from each side, the Cubs were sure to nail down this victory by using 5 relievers following their starting pitcher, Sean Marshall. This series is just halfway done though, as two games are left to be played in this four game series. All three teams ae playing with one goal in mind…a trip to the playoffs. One thing is certain, the competition will result in some fantastic baseball being played from here on out.
