Octavio Dotel Signs White Sox
Former dominant set-up man Octavio Dotel finalized a signing with the Chicago White Sox today. the deal is with 11 million dollars and extends over 2 seasons.
Apparently Bobby Jenks isn’t too happy about the move to being a one inning pitcher.
“I’m not ready to be the one-inning guy yet,” said Jenks. “I like to pitch and want to work as much as I can. That’s just my mentality, so I want to be out there. That’s how I love it.”
Last season for the Atlanta Braves dotel was 2-1 with a 4.11 ERA with 11 saves. Dotel had a strong strikeout rate, K’ing 41 batters in just 30 innings.
This is a good signing for the White Sox. Dotel, the veteran, can help budding stars Bobby Jenks, Andy Sisco and Mike Macdougal prosper in the windy city.
