Phillies Put Brew Crew On Brink Of Elimination

Thanks in part to a lousy showing from starting pitcher C.C Sabathia, the Milwaukee Brewers lost their second consecutive game in the NLDS round of the 2008 MLB playoffs. Now down two games to none, the Brewers must win three games in a row to advance to the NLCS.
“I don’t think starting on three days’ rest had anything to do with it,” Sabathia said on the outing. “I just didn’t make pitches when I needed to.”
Sabathia’s outing went north when Pedro Feliz hit an RBI double in the 2nd inning. Following the double, Sabathia recorded an out only to allow two consecutive walks. With the bases loaded, Shane Victorino stepped to the plate and delivered big time; hitting a grand slam to left field, putting Philly up for good.
“I started running, looked up and saw (Ryan) Braun stopped and thought, ‘Did that really happen?”’ Victorino said of the clutch home run.
In total, Sabathia would go 3.2 innings, allowing six hits and five earned runs. Thanks to some solid Milwaukee relief, the game would be kept within striking distance after C.C’s departure. However, the Brewers would only be able to throw two runs on the board to counter Philadelphia’s five.
Notching the win in this game was starter Brett Myers; he’d go seven innings, allowing merely two hits and two earned runs. Brad Lidge pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save in the series.

I felt very bad about Gangully. He has played very well in almost all the matches whether its one day or test match.
