DV and Chris review their predictions of NBA playoff series and how they're looking like thus far. At the time of this taping, only three match-ups are tied - Orlando Magic/Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers/New Orleans Hornets, and San Antonio Spurs/Memphis Grizzlies - and the others being a 2-0 count - Chicago Bulls over Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat over Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics over New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks over Portland Trail Blazers, and Oklahoma City Thunder over Denver Nuggets. NBA Playoffs: Eastern Conference Preview

The 2011 NBA Playoffs kicks off on Saturday, April 16th with the Eastern Conference's top-seeded Chicago Bulls matching up against the eighth-seeded Indiana Pacers at 1PM ET on ESPN. It's appropriate that the Bulls start the NBA postseason since they are also the NBA's top-seeded team, earning homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs with a regular season record of 62-20. So, how do the Eastern Conference series shake out for all of the playoff participants? Peep the preview below.
1. Chicago Bulls (62-20) vs. 8. Indiana Pacers (37-45)
The Pacers (24-17 at home; 13-28 on the road) are almost a vagabond group that made the playoffs due to the overall weakness of the Eastern Conference as they are the only under-.500 team in the postseason. They made a spirited effort when assistant Frank Vogel was named interim head coach, going 20-18 and obviously made the playoffs. Danny Granger is the top talent in the group and while Darren Collison was a bit of a disappointment, other players stepped up their games, particularly Tyler Hansbrough, Josh McRoberts and Roy Hibbert. Rookie Paul George also showed flashes of big-time ability.
However, the Bulls will be too much for the Pacers who seem disjointed compared to the smooth-running machine that is the Bulls. Prediction: Bulls in four games.

EndScore Report: Western Conference NBA Playoffs Preview

DV and Chris delve into each series of the Western Conference NBA Playoffs with the San Antonio Spurs versus the Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Lakers against the New Orleans Hornets, Dallas Mavericks versus Portland Trail Blazers, and Oklahoma City Thunder versus the surging Denver Nuggets. Once again the Spurs are one of the favorites to take the west led by the trio of Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Tim Duncan. However, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and the rest of the Lakers are the defending champs. The Dallas Mavericks came close to a title several years ago and the Oklahoma City Thunder look like they'll be contenders for several years with the core duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Who takes the Western Conference series? Peep the opinion of DV and Chris!

In this edition of the EndScore Report, DV and Chris look at all of the match-ups in the Eastern Conference NBA playoffs with the Chicago Bulls versus the Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat versus Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics versus New York Knicks, and the Orlando Magic versus the Atlanta Hawks. Who will step up in the east? Derrick Rose and the Bulls look primed to take the conference, but the Heat and its Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh won't go down easy. Neither will the "old" Big Three of the Celtics - Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce - however, how will the trade of Kendrick Perkins affect the team. And, finally, how about the Magic and its big man, Dwight Howard. Are there implications to how the team's postseason results will affect his staying or leaving the team? DV and Chris back at you with another EndScore Report edition of "In Your Face" where we call out that past week's dumbest athlete (or athlete's mom), team, coach, and any other sports-affiliated personality. This was recorded during halftime of the New York Knicks/New Jersey Nets game, so there's obvious background noise... deal with it! This week, Chris goes after the Boston Red Sox's slow start and DV hopes that LeBron James' mother, Gloria James, would act her age. Listen here for the full-blown brashness!

EndScore Report: The New York Knicks and Above-.500 Dream

DV and Chris speak on the New York Knicks and the team's ability to finish the NBA season with an above-.500 regular season record. The Knicks are on track to make it happen with a 40-38 record currently and only four games left. Two winnable games against the New Jersey Nets and Indiana Pacers will seal the deal and it won't matter what the outcome would be versus the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics to close out the season. The dream can happen!
However, while Carmelo Anthony was a significant acquisition for the Knicks, it's hard to ignore the Denver Nuggets who have basically been on a tear since Melo was traded. The Nuggets are currently 48-30 and have a chance to win 50 games, if not more. The above-.500 dream has at least become a reality for one team. Fulfill our dreams and give our thoughts on the Knicks and Nuggets a listen!

Chris goes first and gives an "in your face" to LeBron James of the Miami Heat. DV doesn't go after anyone officially affiliated with a professional team, but instead goes after a couple of idiotic Los Angeles Dodgers fans... and, no, San Francisco Giants fans, Dodgers fans aren't all idiots. EndScore Report: In Your Face Duke and Knicks!

DV and Chris get down with the inaugural edition of In Your Face, a weekly feature (most likely on Fridays) where they call out a player, coach, and/or team. This week, the Duke University Blue Devils and New York Knicks get the In Your Face treatment. Duke is no longer in the NCAA Tournament after losing to the Arizona Wildcats and it's sweetness for about 99% of the population. The New York Knicks traded for Carmelo Anthony and it's not looking so good. The EndScore Report recently reviewed the trade, but the team's losing streak and the Denver Nuggets' winning ways was just too noteworthy not to give the Knicks an In Your Face. Listen to the gloating and sadness.

EndScore Report: Carmelo Anthony trade to the New York Knicks review

DV and Chris take a look at the Carmelo Anthony trade to the New York Knicks and how it's panned out thus far. The Knicks are now 7-6 since the trade (NOTE: this podcast was recorded before the Knicks win versus the Memphis Grizzlies), while the Denver Nuggets are 9-2. DV argues that the Knicks gave up too much in Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, and the prospect of Timofey Mozgov and while Chris agrees, to get a "superstar" like Anthony was or will be worth the price in order to possibly (hopefully) get another big name star and form the trendy Big Three of star NBA players ala the Miami Heat with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. Either way, the one thing both DV and Chris can agree on is that the Knicks won't go far without playing defense. Download and listen here!
Michael Jordan Proclaims Derrick Rose as the NBA MVP

Multiple NBA MVP winner and current Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan named Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose as this season's Most Valuable Player. Jordan, arguably and mostly thought of as the greatest NBA player ever, has won numerous awards during his career in the regular season, All-Star game, and NBA Finals, so if anyone should know how much better a player is than anyone else in the league, it's going to be Jordan.
"I wish man," Rose said. "It's great that he said that. It's an honor. I'm speechless. But I'm just trying to keep winning. The award will come if we keep winning. I'm just trying to play hard and aggressive and with an edge."
It's refreshing that Rose is as humble as he is, but his game has noticeably improved this season. He's shooting from beyond the arch more consistently, finding and setting up his teammates more often, and he's simply taking over games becoming a real presence on the floor. Rose has the Bulls in contention in the east, as well as possibly taking it all this postseason and run the table, winning an NBA championship. Something the team hasn't won since that Jordan guy played.
