TENNESSEE TITANS
2007 RECORD: 10-6
Overview: Jeff Fisher is the most underrated head coach in the NFL. The fact that he took last year’s Tennessee Titans to the playoffs despite having a horrible Vince Young at the helm, and without Albert Haynesworth for most of the year on defense was a minor miracle. Granted, had the Indianapolis Colts starters played the regular season finale, the Titans would have lost and the Cleveland Browns would have made the playoffs. The Titans’ two wins prior to playing the Colts JV team were against the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs.

HOUSTON TEXANS
2007 RECORD: 8-8
Overview: The Houston Texans are coming off their best season ever, going 8-8 in 2007. Their early schedule was favorable and they came out of the first five games with a 3-2 record. Bad part about that was one of those losses was to the Atlanta Falcons. The last two Texan wins were against teams that were already in the playoffs as well, so in my estimation this team was 6-10 if it was 8-8. They were an improved team last year and should be better yet again. Too bad they don’t play in the NFC West.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
2007 RECORD: 11-5
Overview: The Jaguars of 2007 turned heads at the beginning of the season by getting rid of Byron Leftwich and making David Garrard the starter at QB. They turned heads again at the end of the season by winning a road-playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and giving the New England Patriots all they could handle. If any team is ready to take the next step, it is the Jaguars. Of course they have the Indianapolis Colts to deal with, but they have proven they can play with them… it is finally time to beat them.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
2007 RECORD: 13-3
Overview: Expect the Indianapolis Colts to continue to be the Indianapolis Colts. Which is to be a team that dominates the regular season and once in the playoffs . . . who knows?!? The roster for 2008 is almost identical to the 2007 roster which is good news for Indy fans. Peyton Manning hasn’t played in the preseason, but it isn’t going to matter. Marvin Harrison may be healthy or may not be, he may be going to jail or he may not be. It really doesn’t matter. The Colts offense dominated last year without him and while they would like to have a healthy Harrison, they will be fine without him.
