In Your Face Roger Clemens Prosecution TeamIn this edition of "In Your Face," we call out the US government for their mishandling of the case versus Roger Clemens. Great job, prosecution. We also call out Pittsburgh Steelers defensive stalwart, James Harrison for making disparaging comments about Rashard Mendenhall, Ben Roethlisberger and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. In your faces! Pittsburgth Steelers defeat Baltimore Ravens to move on to AFC championship

Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: News, NFL, Playoffs,

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens againIn what was being hyped up as a game that would be equivalent to a boxing match, as well as possible a lower scoring game, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens didn't disappoint in that it was a hard-fought game. However, no one saw the scoring that would happen with the Steelers beating the Ravens 31-24. The Ravens actually went into the half with a 21-7 lead, but the home team Steelers came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Ravens 24-3. Ben Roethlisberger threw for two touchdowns while Rashard Mendenhall ran for a couple of scores. Next up is the AFC championship for Pittsburgh.

True Predictions:  So Much Good & Bad, Titans, and Patriots vs. Saints on MNF

DescriptionWeek Eleven proved profitable for me as I went 5-1 and run the season record to 32-20. Two upsets: Oakland Raiders over the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs over the Pittsburgh Steelers weren’t even selected to predict since I figured the also-rans would have no shot. But I did have the feeling that the one-win wonders, the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions, would deliver a close contest. A last second pass interference call in the end zone set up the Detroit victory. I got the expected wins by the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers. My lone loss was due to Vince Young leading the Tennessee Titans to their fourth straight victory in a hard-fought match-up with the Houston Texans. The Texans needed to show they could be contenders (against a 3-6 team), but it just was not to be.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS
2007 RECORD: 10-6

Overview: Finishing the 2007 season with the same record as the Cleveland Browns, the tiebreaker lofted the Pittsburgh Steelers to the top of the AFC North and into the postseason.  2008 brings a bit of a different situation as several key members of the offensive line and linebacking corps have gone elsewhere, while their possession receiver in Hines Ward is a year older.  The Steel Curtain has a tough road ahead of them in 2008, but they do have one of the best quarterbacks in the league.  Can they capitalize on his prime?
