Terrell Owens to the St. Louis Rams now?

Terrell Owens

After there being some hints that Terrell Owens might be joining the Cincinnati Bengals, the St. Louis Rams have now come into play.  While it would be a coup to have Owens on the Rams to help rookie quarterback, Sam Bradford, it wouldn’t make sense for Owens if he wants to win and contend for a Super Bowl.  By most measurements, the Rams stink.  The Bengals would be a lot better destination for Owens, but will the Bengals come through with an offer?  Chad Ochocinco and Carson Palmer probably hope so.

Could Terrell Owens be joining the Cincinnati Bengals

Terrell Owens

Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer has been working out with free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens and has been impressed.  The Bengals current number one wide receiver, Chad Ochocinco, is a close friend with Owens and both have reality television shows that are back-to-back on VH1.  He’s been outspoken about Owens joining the team and considers himself Robin to Owens’ Batman, as he tweeted (pic included).  Are all of these hints that one of the greatest receivers of all time could be joining the Bengals offense?  It’s quite possible and could help the team score more points as defenses would have to worry about both Ochocinco and TO, which would probably lead to man-to-man and a lot of TDs.

True Predictions: Saints, Colts, Vikings and Chargers Will Hold Serve

Posted by Frank Nevarez Categories: Editorial, NFL,

Dallas Cowboys The quarterfinals of the NFL tournament are set. Last week I went 2-2. Season record hits 46-36. There’s a reason why the upcoming playoff home teams got byes last week. They’re a cut above the competition. The favored New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals lost last weekend. Were they out-played or just not so good? Will any of the favorites this week be out-played or have a bad day?

True Predictions: Home Teams Will Rule Wild Card Weekend

Posted by Frank Nevarez Categories: Editorial, NFL,

New England Patriots Predictably, I go 3–2 in the final week of the regular season. The season mark runs to 47-36. Wild Card Weekend provides three repeat match-ups from last weekend, but I only see one coming up with the same result. The home teams will get fat on home-cooking and victories this weekend.

True Predictions: Steelers, Eagles, Ravens and Jets Have Something to Play For

Posted by Frank Nevarez Categories: Editorial, NFL,

Philadelphia Eagles The San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers held true last week. The New York Giants and Miami Dolphins proved disappointing. The Giants completely tanked and will miss the playoffs. I went 3-2 for the week. The season mark runs to 44-34. Selections for Week 17 are based on games in which both teams have something to play for (as best we can assess).

True Predictions: Colts Will Lose, Saints Will Win and Home Sweet Home

Posted by Frank Nevarez Categories: Editorial, NFL,

DescriptionLast week’s 2-3 record places the season mark at 38-29. I need some wins and let’s hope that some home-cooking will be the recipe for success this week. We’ve got six games picked and I’m going with the home team for all. Last week the Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers took expected victories, but in statement games I was off the mark as the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings got it done over the New York Giants and the Cincinnati Bengals, respectively. The Miami Dolphins kept their wild card hopes alive by knocking off the Jacksonville Jaguars, who currently hold a wild card spot.

True Predictions:  So Much Good & Bad, Titans, and Patriots vs. Saints on MNF

Posted by Frank Nevarez Categories: Editorial, NFL,

DescriptionWeek Eleven proved profitable for me as I went 5-1 and run the season record to 32-20. Two upsets: Oakland Raiders over the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs over the Pittsburgh Steelers weren’t even selected to predict since I figured the also-rans would have no shot. But I did have the feeling that the one-win wonders, the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions, would deliver a close contest. A last second pass interference call in the end zone set up the Detroit victory. I got the expected wins by the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers. My lone loss was due to Vince Young leading the Tennessee Titans to their fourth straight victory in a hard-fought match-up with the Houston Texans. The Texans needed to show they could be contenders (against a 3-6 team), but it just was not to be.

True Predictions: Saints, NFL Western Conferences, and Surprising Broncos

Posted by Frank Nevarez Categories: Editorial, NFL,

Drew Brees

Just came out of my first losing week; I went 2-3 (12-9 for the season). The Denver Broncos take the New England Patriots in OT. I guess the Broncos are for real. Kyle Orton “out-Brady’d” Tom Brady! The Miami Dolphins re-found the Wildcat and more than met the challenge of the New York Jets’ quick strike style (even with newbie Jet Braylon Edwards making a big contribution). The Baltimore Ravens’ loss to a gutsy Cincinnati Bengals shows how the two teams are going in opposite directions. The Atlanta Falcons got back on track and the Arizona Cardinals survived a late spurt from the Houston Texans.
