New York Mets win streak runs to five
Posted by Adrien Griffin Categories: MLB,
The New York Mets have suddenly become one of the hottest teams in baseball, despite having recently traded players such as closer Francisco Rodriguez and center fielder Carlos Beltran. The Mets have won five in a row including a sweep over the Cincinnati Reds and are quickly closing the gap between them and the NL wild card leaders from the Atlanta Braves. They’ll welcome the Braves to New York next weekend and again for the final weekend in August.

EndScore Report: What To Do With Jose Reyes
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Athletes, Front Office, MLB, Rumors, Trades,
It's been a while, but EndScore Report is back! However, the question to ask is whether or not Jose Reyes will be back with the New York Mets, both after the MLB trade deadline or after the season. This edition was recorded on July 6th, but the content still holds strong, such as speaking on the possibilities of where Reyes will call home in the immediate and long-term future. For example, can he eventually replace Derek Jeter and take over as the shortstop for the New York Yankees? It's a hot topic among Mets fans since Reyes has been playing out of his mind thus far this season. LISTEN to what Chris has to say about the best player on his favorite team.

EndScore Report: Fred Wilpon Is An Idiot
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Editorial, Front Office, MLB, News,
In this edition of EndScore Report, DV and (mostly) Chris talk about New York Mets owner Fred Wilpon, who had some scathing remarks regarding his own players. His own players! Wilpon disses once thought of foundation players, Jose Reyes and David Wright, as well as Carlos Beltran. Way to go, Fred. Great way to devalue your players for any possible trades, as well as send a clear message to any free agents that the Mets ownership is a joke! Chris, the resident Mets fan, gets down with his bad self and DV just let's him do his thing. LISTEN UP!

EndScore Report: The New York Mets Are In Shambles
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Front Office, MLB, News, Rumors, Trades,
In this edition of the EndScore Report, DV and Chris talk about the recent transactions made by the New York Mets in cutting Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo. If the Mets are rebuilding, and it seems that they are, should GM Sandy Alderson consider trading David Wright and Jose Reyes, players who were deemed as the nucleus of the team's future? The podcasting duo also talk about the current team owners, Fred and Jeff Wilpon, whom they think should sell the team in order to truly begin anew. But who will buy in? DV and Chris talk about some interesting possiblities. Agree or disagree, feel free to leave comments below! Listen to the audio magic!

Mets Take Two of Three From Braves
Posted by Milo Taibi Categories: Athletes, MLB, Scoreboard,
Entering Sunday afternoon’s game, Carlos Delgado had just 3 hits in his last 9 games. However, the slumping New York Met hit 2 home runs against the Atlantas Braves en route to a 6-3 Mets victory, giving the Mets the series victory over Atlanta. Despite hitting the 2 home runs, Delgado didn’t emerge from the dugout following the 2nd shot for a curtain call.
“The way I look at is I hit a solo home run in the seventh inning,” Delgado said. “I’ve got a great deal of respect for the game. I don’t think that’s a place for a curtain call.”

Is Oliver Perez Back? Ask The Braves…
Posted by Milo Taibi Categories: Kudos, MLB, News,
Picking up where he left off in the 2006 playoffs, Oliver Perez started off his 2007 season shutting down the Atlanta Braves. Of course, 11 runs of support from the Mets offense doesn’t hurt. Perez went seven strong innings, giving up five hits, zero walks, and striking out six. He also didn’t do too badly at the dish, scoring two runs with a base hit.
