Johan SantanaI wrote an opinion story a few days ago about how Mets pitcher Johan Santana blatantly told the media that he was the best pitcher in his division and how that was wrong. A reader left a comment calling me an idiot saying I didn’t know anything about Santana and that he’s the highest paid in his division, as if that warrants him calling himself the best. The reader then said that Santana was asked a stupid question to begin with. Regardless of the ignorance of the commenter’s words, I began wondering if there was, in fact, any merit to his opinions. Houston Astros pitcher Shawn Chacon had shut them out through 8 innings, and all hope looked lost with Stros’ closer Jose Valverde coming on. However, the Phillies managed to score 4 runs to defeat Houston 4-3

With the 2008 baseball season beginning, many fans would see the name, “Chris Coste,” on the depth chart of the Philadelphia Phillies and think that he was just a warm body to back up starting catcher Carlos Ruiz. That’s why Chris Coste released this self-written book, to share his experiences in professional baseball before reaching the big leagues.
